Madonna Half- Time Show Demonstrates Power of Collaboration

Madonna at 53 still has it! What I liked the most about her half time show is the collaboration with other artists and that she did not make the show all about herself.

By bringing in Nicki Minaj and Cee Lo she strategically aligned herself with other brands that have other fans. This is a sign of new leadership. Think about this in your business- where are the strategic alliances that can introduce you to new markets or new clients?

Perhaps you want to gain access to a foreign market globally- who is well respected in that market and how can you strategically align yourself with them?

Artists in the entertainment industry are constantly looking to sensationalize and create a viral response to their brand. In fact Nicki Minaj credits her increase in success to country singer Taylor Swift who introduced Minaj to her fan base. Reaching across genres requires an introduction from an established brand.

After the Super Bowl we watched The Voice and the same principle applies- the judges range from pop, to country, to R & B and the sales of each of the judge artists have increased exponentially since collaborating together on the music show.

The future of all aspects of successful business and leadership is going to be related to communicating the brand, collaborating with others and sharing markets.

You either love Madonna or hate her- at the end of the day you cannot deny she is a brilliant business woman.
