The food industry is experiencing a major cultural change as many of the Zoomers ( Baby Boomers who refuse to age) are set to retire while at the same time some of the Zoomers are staying on past planned retirement. Meanwhile Gen X are stepping into senior leadership and they have more of a focus on doing the work in a way that allows for balance with family life. Gen Y are being hired but are not necessarily looking at the food industry as a long term career. They are looking for more training and opportunities than ever before.

It requires adaptable and flexible leadership to navigate this new future world in the food industry.

The opportunity for leaders and their teams is to focus on the strengths of their people and look at adapting the workplace to harness the intelligence of all of the generations.

“Cheryl your keynote on the generational impact on our industry was right on target! I had many audience members come up to me and say that your keynote was relevant, insightful and humorous. Our executive team loved you too! On behalf of the McDonalds

Conference Chair W.O.N./WLN McDonalds Conference

“Cheryl your presentations for our CSNM conference were incredible. First you had us reeling with your generation’s research, technological savvy and the way we “zoomers” have to adapt in order to attract and retain the Gen Y’s. Your segment with the directors set the tone for the entire conference THEN you closed our conference with your keynote “Take Positive Control of the Future” and you rocked the house! Really valuable insights on how we can each take personal accountability in order to create success- everyone was still talking about it on the post conference boat cruise.
Thank-you!
