Cheryl's Quick Tip - Change of Scenery
 We are creatures of habit. In our communications we will unconsciously find ourselves saying and doing the same things over and over again expecting new and different results (which by the way is the definition of insanity). One great tip to avoid getting into the same communication traps is to simply change the scenery. No this doesn't mean you get to get up and leave the room ( althought in some cases this would be a valid solution).
What I am suggesting is the following:
When you feel that you are not able to get your point across or the other person isn't 'getting it' you can ask them to come for a walk with you or you can 'change up' the environment by asking them to join you in another room. The simple act of changing scenery shifts the dynamics of the interaction. Give it a try!
